Knowsley Hall near Liverpool, England
You can’t just apply to join the Falcons Club. You must be recommended by an existing member and fill out an application form.
Perfectly normal for private members clubs, however, in order to join the Falcons Club, you must also host its founder, Alex De Valkeneer, at your home for a dinner or a short stay.
“It’s so I can check they are the right sort of people to join,” De Valkeneer explains to Mr Family Office. “And that their home - and their hospitality - is of the calibre our members are coming to expect.”
The Falcons Club doesn’t have a club house, bar, restaurant or any physical location. The venues for meetups are its members’ homes. De Valkeneer, 29, says: “Except these aren’t ordinary homes, and they aren’t available to anyone who is not a Falcons member.”
He notes every house must be “beyond special, it must be iconic”.
Current homes on the roster include several castles in Scotland, Italy, France and Spain. There are also ranches and vineyards in some of the most idyllic spots. Some members also own private islands and remote lodges across the world from deep in the African bush to remote wilderness areas of Alaska.
He refuses to provide any details of the houses or the club’s members citing privacy concerns. And when asked to provide images of any of the houses for this newsletter, De Valkeneer sent an image of a large country house (see above) but won’t provide any details.
A simple Google Image search reveals it is Knowsley Hall, near Liverpool, UK, which is owned by the Earl of Derby.
Asked why he is so secretive when it is so easy to identify the house, De Valkeneer replies: “Because we don’t want any information about members online… it’s what the whole club is about! Of course it’s easy to find. You just put it in Google Images and you know all about it.”
He also refused to provide details on how the club operates, saying only that: “Members engage during journeys. One of the members tells me they want to host, we discuss for how long and what the experience will be about. Then we design the ‘concept’ of the trip, for example a four day whisky & shooting trip in Scotland or a three day golf trip in Italy. And then all the members are invited and they can join the trip - but we usually only allow five couples to join, so [it is] always very intimate.”
De Valkeneer says he got the idea for Falcons Club while growing up traveling the world with his grandfather who had friends with special homes across the world.
“My grandfather passed away in 2012, and I thought ‘Why don’t I create something similar to continue his legacy’?” he says. “I’ve always had an extreme passion for beautiful homes - why not start a community?”
That’s exactly what De Valkeneer did, setting up Falcons Club in 2025. He says it’s since grown to include more than 25 members who collectively own more than 180 homes.
Members are motivated by a desire to share their homes in a safe and secure manner, says De Valkeneer. “They want to share their homes and all the effort they have made to create such wonderful homes, but they’re also very discreet, and only want to host really nice people who also have really nice homes and understand the position.”
All of the members are “very, very wealthy families”, including at least one declared billionaire. “Some are very old money, some are new money,” he says. “What united them is they are all still super-nice grounded people. It doesn’t matter if they’re old money or new money - what matters is they are quiet money - that’s our motto.”
Every member must meet De Valkeneer before they can be considered for membership - which costs more than six-figures US.
“It’s important that I get to know them, and they get to know me,” he says. “It is all word of mouth, we do not do social media, and our website says almost nothing. That is intentional. We don’t want everyone to know about us, only the right people. So please don’t spread this too widely.”
