Almost US$1 billion in assets will leave Commonwealth Financial Network for competitors after its US$2.7 billion acquisition by LPL Financial. While the modelling from LPL assumed it would retain 90% of Commonwealth's 3,000 advisers, the extent to which the reality of culture, expectations, leadership, reward, ownership, client demands, infrastructure needs, and other factors are at play adds that layer of behavioural impact which no model can fully accommodate (though I am sure someone will tell me it can).
